Newsletter 26th January 2016

As we enter the final week of January detox, I will be posting more recipe suggestions and blogs on New Dimensions social media sights. Feel free to share them with your friends, substitute ingredients and out your own flare to them. That’s what I love about these easy meals, you can create a fabulous dish in 15 minutes from fresh ingredients. That’s less time than processed frozen meals. I know there is so much confusion still regarding nutrition so I am going to create a recipe book full of quick easy meals for you to make for the whole family. It will be an ebook published in February. More details next week!

Talking of food roots and green veg are very much in season so enjoy them now while they’re at their best. To make them even more flavoursome try spicing them up! Try these combinations

Parsnips & Ginger – Roast the parsnips for 25 minutes and toss in the grated ginger.
Celeriac & Cardamom – Boil celeriac with cardamom seeds, drain then blend for twist to the flavour of your mash!
Beetroot & Orange – Thinly slice your beets then pan fry with balsamic vinegar and orange juice. Or try it raw, grated and served with toasted sesame seeds.
Swede & Coconut – An easy side to a chicken dish… Peel the swede and cut into 1cm thick slices. Parboil in stock until tender, drain then toss with curry spices and enough coconut milk to cover. Top with flaked almonds and cook until golden.
Kale & Cumin – Add kale leaves to boiling water for 1 min, drain and toss with cumin, pomegranate seeds and olive oil.
Sprouts & Hazelnuts – Quarter them and toast in a frying pan with hazelnuts. Add a splash of lemon juice and water to give them some zing.
Sport Relief 2016
On 18th March 2016 sport relief is back and I have set the members of New Dimensions Fitness a challege (they don’t know this yet, but they love surprises!) As we enjoyed the 1000 rep challenge in December so much, I’m keeping the same theme and we’re going to be jogging 1000 miles as a team between now and March 18th! We hope to raise £1000 in sponsorship for a great charity plus it will be great preparation for our upcoming Tough Mudder in May. Our progress will be updated through our just giving page, facebook and twitter. Members – I will upload the progress chart onto the Facebook page and members group for you to add your completed miles onto.

Tough Mudder Midlands
Talking of Tough Mudder we have a team set up and training has commenced. We will be completing the course on Sat 21st May so if you want to join our team please let me know asap as the prices increase on Thursday.
2016 is going to be an eventful year and one full of challenges… Charity events, snowdon and obstacle races. Have you ever thought about doing something to push yourself out of your comfort zone? It’s never too late to begin

And Finally…
Thought Of The Week…
“If you live long enough, you’ll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you’ll be a better person. It’s how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit.” – William J Clinton
