Trick Or Treat? Halloween Workout

I love designing the workouts for members of NDF especially around events like  Halloween, Christmas and sporting events such as the world cup or grand national.  It adds a little fun factor into sessions and puts a twist on regular workouts.

My favourite workout of them all has to be Trick or Treat!

You’ll need a partner for this workout as it’s a fun competiton that will see the winner of the round rewarded with a TREAT exercise and sadly the loser recieves a TRICK exercise.  This is when you pick your partner wisely, so make sure it’s someone who’s going to challenge you to work hard and that can’t be beaten every time.

First you’ll need 2 small buckets and 12 pieces of paper.  Write 6 challenging exercises on each piece of paper, fold up and place all in one bucket.  Repeat the same process with the 6 less challenging exercises. (See suggested exercises below)

For each round there are 2 exercises which you and your partner will complete for 30 seconds each, 4 times.  One exercise is cardio based and the other is strength based.

Partner 1 completes the cardio exercise first for 30 seconds whilst at the same time, partner 2 completes the strength exercise.  Once completed, rest for 30 seconds and swap over.  Repeat this 4 times in total

Record the amount of reps completed for each person on each exercise and total up at the end.  The winner is the partner who completed the most amount of reps overall and gets to choose an exercise from the TREAT bucket.  The loser chooses an exercise from the TRICK bucket, both are performed for one minute each!
