Have you ever decided to go Christmas grocery shopping at some rediculously crazy time of the night to avoid the chaos, only to get there and find everyone else had the same idea?
What was once deserted at 3am, looks more like the crowds from a Black Friday sale, only this time we’re fighting over sprouts.
I am the kind of person who thinks if I start too early I’ll be done with the festive cheer when it finally arrives. Â Yet I find myself stressed and running out of time if I leave it until December. Â This year however, I’m taking a different approach and getting it done as quickly as possible with minimal faff.
So here’s to getting prepped for Christmas in just a few days.
Cards – If you’re sending them this year, start writing them now! Â Get them done as early as possible so you just need to post or deliver them when you’re out and about rather than making special trips.
Gifts – Online is the most time efficient, but only if you know what people want. Â Start making a list and get then hit Amazon with a bulk order.
Wrapping – As the gifts are delivered or purchased, wrap them rather than leaving them until mid December. Â There’s nothing worse than a gift wrap marathon on Christmas eve.
Decorations – I like this part the most so no rushing here. Take an afternoon to pick a tree or get it down from the loft and turn your house into a grotto.
Schedule a food delivery –Â Can you book an online delivery slot for your groceries? Â Better still I prefer local farm shops. Â The food is fresh and there’s plently of it!
Cooking and baking – Cakes, triffles, puddings and general food prep. Â As long as you organise your time to get this done you’ll be able to remain fairly stress free. Â Don’t be affraid to ask for help and if there’s anything you can do (fitness wise) while the Christmas cake is cooking, then take the window of opportunity! Planks, bupees, press ups and squats. It all pays off!
Try to get your workout days in your diary and schedule your other chores around them. Â You may find you’ll need to adjust 1 or 2 sessions, but if you have the flexibility to shuffle things around, you can still make the most of any time you have for some exercise.
You’ll feel alot better about Christmas indulgences if you stay as active as possible, just remember to stay hydrated too!
